Who are we?

  1. Tell me about AMP.

As the name suggests, Alloa Musical Players is based in Alloa, Clackmannanshire and for the past 60 years has brought musical theatre to our local communities in and around the 'Wee County' as Clacks is known.

But just what do we do, how do we do it, when do we do it and who does it?

Use the links above to explore our site to find out more about us, what we are up to right now, how you can get involved and how to get tickets for our next big production. Check out our photo gallery where you'll find images from shows past and what we are up to right now as we rehearse our next production.

And why not follow us on facebook where you'll keep up with all the latest information on everything to do with AMP.

  2. When was the society started?

Alloa Musical Players were formerly Alloa Amateur Operatic Society, originally formed in 1952. We are a voluntary organisation that aims to get the local community inolved in musical theatre either on the stage, behind the scenes or simply to enjoy watching.

    WHAT DO WE DO?

We present shows, usually once but sometimes twice a year. In recent years we have done Me and My Girl, Little Shop of Horrors, The Sound of Music, Annie Get Your Gun and AnythingGoes to name but a few.

We have also presented compilation shows such as Play It Again, Strictly Rogers and Hammerstein, and recently The World Goes Round.

Some of these shows were devised by the company and comprised collections of songs loosely strung together around a central theme. We have also been known to do pantomimes - Oh yes we have!
